'Unnaippol Oruvan': Celebrating 50 years of "Kamal Haasan"

Unnaipol Oruvan, Kamal Haasan’s current project, is n’t special simply because he is teaming up with Mohanlal for the first time in a Tamil film. The film also marks 50 years of the actor-director-producer-writer in tinsel town. "Shooting for film is almost complete, excepting for my encounter with Mohanlal and a few other scenes. We hope to wrap up shoot by May end and the film will be ready for release by June/ July. But this film marks my fiftieth year and we also might release it on August 12, the day when 'Kalathur Kannamma', my first film was released", said the actor, adding that the first was shot using the sophisticated Red One camera. "It’s so good that we can edit and see in the evening, what was shot in the morning,”the actor said. Speaking about Shruti, the actor said he wanted to work with her earlier, but it was she who refused. "She never gave me dates,”he quipped, adding that for the first time, writer Ee.Ra.Murugan would pen the dialogues while Manushyaputran will write the lyrics.
Shruti Haasan said the film will have an alternative style of music, and her decision to compose music for the flick did not mean she would not do films. Mohanlal, on his part, said he was happy to work with Kamal as such a project together was proposed two years ago. "A script was even tried but they didn’t work out. I’m happy this has shaped up well,” he said.

"Ajith" turns 38

Asal being the Ultimate Star’s 49th movie, his fans will definitely be looking forward to it becoming a superhit movie; further raising the bar for their thala’s fiftieth movie. And as pointed out by Superstar Rajinikanth at the movie launch, its time yet again for Ajith to prove himself.

"Ayan" creates history at box office

When there are no big tickets for the race, ‘Ayan’ seems to be treading as a surefooted deer at box office. Indeed, it’s a wonderful project for Sun Pictures that wouldn’t have expected so much profit themselves. The film was released on April 3 and till now, the shows are going house-packed. Precisely, the summer vacations have let in more and more audiences for the film.
On the pars, previous week’s releases ‘Guru En Aalu’, ‘Mariyaadhai’ and ‘Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puraavum’ has received lukewarm response. However as ‘Guru En Aalu’ has picked in more crowd, ‘Ayan’ has no reasons to worry till third week of May as ‘Sarvam’ and ‘Kandasamy’ will be hitting screens at that point.

Surya's 25th Film 'Singam'

Director Hari known for his Masala entertainers is now looking for his next project with actor Suriya with Tirunelveli as background. Both Hari and Surya earlier teams up for the masala flick “Vel” is now looking for a new movie titled “Singam”.

The movie is produced by Gjanavel of Studio Green who has made “Paruthiveeran” and “Sillunnu Oru kathal” previously. According to Director Hari that the movie will start rolling soon after Surya completed “Aadhavan” movie. The Singam will be a typical cop movie with right mixture of action, comedy and sentiments added. Actress Anushka will lead the pair role while Prakash Raj and Vivek included in the cast. After “Kaakha Kaakha” Suriya will be acting as a cop in this flick and coincidentally for Hari also same kind of fact that he is going to direct his second police story after the blockbuster hit movie “Saamy”. Devi Sri Prasad had signed as a music director with VT Vijayan editing and Priyan as Cameraman. The director planned to make the first schedule of movie at Tirunelveli, Ambasamudram, Kutralam, Karaikudi and Thuthukudi and the second shooting schedule will be made at Chennai, Hyderabad and Vishakapattinam. It will be great to see Suriya in a classic masala flick after a long time.
