Will "Vettaikaran" hit the screens on Deepavali?

The latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood is the delay in the release of Vettaikkaran from its original release schedule for this Deepavali

According to sources close to the unit, nearly 90 percent of the film is complete and a few scenes and a song are to be shot in New Zealand. There is some more patchwork to be done. This is due to the actors’ involvement to give the film maximum perfection. Now the unit is waiting for the dates of Anushka who is shooting for Singam, and probably the song will be shot in the first week of October.

Vijay is very keen on a Diwali release as his films released during the festival season have normally done well at the box-office. But Sun Pictures, the present owner of the film is not likely to release the film in a hurry. They want at least a month long pre-release campaign for the film. So, the final decision will be taken by Sun Pictures which is already having Bharath starrer Kandein Kadhalai in the pipeline.
