Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson reportedly heads a list of actresses being considered to portray screen legend Marilyn Monroe in a new movie.
The 24-year-old actress is apparently competing with the likes of Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams for the role in the film titled "My Week With Marilyn", reports contactmusic.com.
The movie is based on the diary of Colin Clark, an employee of noted Shakespearean actor Laurence Olivier, who looked after Monroe when she was in London to film Olivier's "The Prince and the Showgirl" in 1957.
In the diary, Clark talks about showing Monroe around Queen Elizabeth's private apartments at Windsor Castle. He published excerpts of his diary in 1958, but left the details of that one week out. These chapters weren't released until he died in 2002, but will now form the basis of the movie.
British film writer Adrian Hodges has adapted the new chapters into a script and the film will be directed by Simon Curtis, while David Parfitt will be producing it.
