News is just in that Kanthaswamy's theatrical and DVD rights for US distribution have just been acquired by Bharat Creations, Inc. for a mind-boggling amount! When contacted, the news was confirmed by reliable sources, and the company has also bought the Telugu version, titled Mallana. The company went on to thank Ayngaran International and producer Kalaipuli S Dhanu for giving them an opportunity to distribute the film in the USA and refused to divulge any more details.
Kanthaswamy has been branded as the movie of the year, and is set to scorch screens this summer with Vikram and Shriya in lead roles. Vikram has come out with a brilliant performance and plays five roles, including that of a woman. The actor also has sung four songs in this most-awaited movie of the year directed by Susi Ganesan. Vikram's role is said to be similar to that of Robin Hood, who is a master of deception and also solves a mystery.
"Foot-tapping" is the word that has been used by insiders to describe Devi Sri Prasad's music. The film is simultaneously being released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Italian and Spanish some time in early June! Do remember to add this to the list of movies to see in summer of 2009!
