'Spiderman 4' to go on floor next February

Work on the fourth instalment of superhero movie 'Spiderman' is set to begin in February 2010, says filmmaker Sam Raimi.

Raimi, who directed the first three 'Spiderman' films, has announced that principal photography for the fourth instalment will begin next year.

'I want to make the best (Spiderman movie) of the bunch and I've always been touched by Peter Parker in a way that I've never been able to describe in the movies, even though I've got a great actor performing it.

The part four will see actor Tobey Maguire return to play the central role of Peter Parker but it is rumoured that actress Kirsten Dunst may only sign up to reprise her role as his beloved Mary Jane if she finds the screenplay satisfactory.

David Lindsay-Abaire is penning the script and the first draft is expected to be ready this summer. 'Spiderman 4' is tentatively scheduled for a May 2011 release.
