Pammal K. Sambandam (PKS) is a Tamil film,starring Kamal Haasan, Simran, Sneha, Abbas, and Ramesh Khanna and was released in 2002. The film was produced by P.L. Thenappan and music was by Deva. Now, the film has been remade in Hindi. Titled Kambakkht Ishq, it stars Bollywood's most bankable hero Akshay Kumar in the lead. The film also has Kareena Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasini and Amrita Arora.
In the Tamil version Kamal played a stunt man. Akshay Kumar also essays the same role in Kambakkth Ishq and Kareena reportedly plays a super model. Music is scored by Anu Malik, and the film is expected to hit screens very soon.
It's nice to see many Tamil movies becoming successful and inspiring other language film-makers to remake them in other languages.
Pammal K. Sambandam was very successful in Kollywood, and is still considered one of the best classic comedy flicks. Kamal Haasan's facial expressions and dialogue deliveries are praised even today!
Let's wait and watch if Akshay Kumar is able to match up to Kamal's 'kamaal' performance!
