Will "Amitabh Bachchan" do a rescue act?

Amitabh Bachchan and the phrase living up to commitments go hand-in-hand. The actor has given the voice over for free for a film titled Zor Lagaa Ke... Haiya.

It's the story about a group of children who, with the help of a homeless man, save a tree from being cut by a constructor. The film has Mithun Chakraborty, Mahesh Manjrekar, Riya Sen and Gulshan Grover in pivotal roles.

The film was supposed to release on World Environment Day (June 5). However, it got pushed back due to the producers and multiplex stand off and is now releasing on June 12.

Amitabh was supposed promote the film but as the release date clashes with International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), the promotion plan has been thrown out of gear. But the actor is devising a plan to promote the film.

"We are in talks with him so that he can give us a day to record interviews and other promotion-related videos so that we can distribute them to the media. He is quite interested to do this. We had no hope of him coming on board due to IIFA but he is known for bailing people out of their worries," says Girish, the director of the film.
